The Drop was initially established in the summer of 2021 as part of the Near North District School Board’s (NNDSB) wellness camps. The Drop supported a total of 154 youth that summer. When the NNDSB contract ended, thanks to a generous donation from the 4th annual Doc Rob Bass Classic, The Drop kept going.
The Drop is now an independent, not-for-profit organization, committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, space for youth in the Parry Sound community.

What People Are Saying
“I grew up in the area and would have benefitted greatly from having such a space in my time. I felt very alone with my mental illness and from having a different sexuality than my peers, and The Drop would have been a place I could have gone to, on my own, to find the help I so desperately needed. These kids today NEED a space like this - take it from a former PS kid; we need community and belonging like what's provided at The Drop!”
— RG
“I think this is such an amazing opportunity for the children in Parry Sound. It was very needed, and now that it's here, I am sure it couldn't go without. I have spoken to many families that are so thankful and appreciative to all involved.”
— Kimberly
“An amazing and much needed community resource for Parry Sound! Parry Sound is an under resourced, northern community that desperately needs this type of innovation and commitment to children’s mental health!”
