Programs and Workshops

  • The Drop, in partnership with the YMCA Employment Services, offers seminars and quarterly workshops aimed at fostering employment and leadership skills.

  • The Drop recognizes the increasing prevalence of mental health and addiction issues of at-risk youth in Northern Communities. We offer workshops that focus on stress reduction, healthy relationships, recognizing signs of suicide, and managing anxiety. The Drop continues to collaborate with local organizations including Victim Services, the OPP and the Health Unit to offer alternative programming geared towards mental health and addictions.

  • The Drop offers a variety of workshops and programming that support the physical health, well-being and safety of youth. Workshops offered in collaboration with local organizations and individuals include: yoga and fitness, affordable and healthy cooking, self-defense, sexual health, human trafficking awareness and vaccine clinics.

  • The Drop supports a number of marginalized groups in the Parry Sound community including Indigenous youth, LGBTQ2S+ youth, and visible minority youth. The Drop hosts journaling workshops that help to encourage self-reflection and cultivate safety for participants. The Drop continues to partner with the Parry Sound Friendship Centre to offer Indigenous teachings and workshops.
